Project Description:
Located on Central Avenue (Route 66) in the Nob Hill neighborhood, the Zinc Wine Bar and Bistro renovation has contributed to the revitalized neighborhood vitality. The 3 level 7,050 SF space was transformed into a fine dining restaurant and a casual neighborhood hang out. The design captures the excitement and energy of the cooking process while creating an elegant dining experience. The zinc clad bar countertop and glass shelved back bar with flanking wine bottle cubbies convey the extensive wine collection. A rebuilt mezzanine is suspended from steel trusses. A clear glass guardrail helps to unite the upper space with the main dining level. Zinc moulding extends along the west wall and provides a transition between the clay tile masonry and stained plaster below. The dining space is open, exciting, yet warm. The basement houses a neighborhood cellar bar and bakery. Zinc offers a place to go, a place to be seen, excitement and fine food.
